On December 8th, 2017, former Federal Prosecutor of the Southern District of Florida, Kendall Coffey, along with 700 other guests attended the premiere of the movie Matilda. It was held at the Olympia Theater in South Florida. The film tells the story of the romantic relationship between the heir to the Russian throne, Nikolay Romanov, and the ballerina of the Imperial Theater, Matilda Kshesinskaya, from the time the 22-year-old crown prince and 18-year-old dancer met in 1890 to the coronation of Nikolay and his wife Aleksandra Fedorovna in 1896. The film’s director, Alexey Uchitel personally greeted the guests as they arrived and answered questions following the viewing. Dresses that were worn in the film were shipped to Miami just for the premiere. They were put on display in the foyer of the theater for guests to see. The movie viewing was organized by Russian Movies Miami with the support of Miami Me Magazine.
